Question by : Dog with parvo. Can 2 week newborns contact it? What should i do?
My male dog is in the vet for parvo. My other female dog is now showing signs for the same thing. Thing is…she just had three puppies. They are about 2 weeks old. If the mom has parvo, can they contact it being that young? What should we do for the mom and the puppies?

If the mom has parvo the pups will likely get it. At their age, I don’t have much hope. Call your vet immediately.
if mom doesn’t have shot then yes the puppies can get it from the other dog being in house. call your vet.
Are you a breeder?
And of course they will get parvo. Parvo is highly contagious. Parvo in puppies that young will be fatal.
Yes they can contract it- They ALL need a visit to the vet!
I would start bottle feeding the puppies- isolate them from mom and dad and wherever the infected mom and dad have been.
As soon as they are old enough make sure EVERYONE that survives gets vaccinated for it- bleach whatever you can to kill the virus. Make sure you wash your hands between handling puppies and the parents.
At that age they are going to need to be bottle fed every hour or two until they are several weeks old. You can get bottles and formula at the pet store.
yes they can all get it you must get them checked out as soon as possible parvo is the worst thing an animal could get it is very deadly and acts very fast. be very careful take them now your female might die
Yes, especially if they are that young. I had a dog with parvo and her sister had it too. They both died due to it. Take them to the vet. Good luck!
The chances of any of these dogs surviving are very slim. Since the mother had no protection, she couldn’t pass it on to the puppies. If you do lose all of them you will need to do some research about how long parvo can live in your environment and how to get rid of it before getting any more dogs. If you get them from a shelter at least they will have been vaccinated against parvo, distemper, and rabies before you get them.
yes they can the best thing to do is seprate the puppy from mom and hand or bottle feed them cause puppys are most vonerable to catching it so get them seprate asap cause pups wont last more then 3 to 4 days with parvo trust me we just lost 2 one was a 7 months the other was 8 weeks
Yes the puppies will have Parvo and you will probably lose them you’ll probably lose the adult dogs as well since none of the appear to have been vaccinated.
Why didn’t you have your dogs vaccinated to protect them from this painful killer disease?
