Q&A: how much does it cost to treat a dog with parvo?
Question by Jasmine Luna: how much does it cost to treat a dog with parvo?
on average, what is an estimation (least amount, most amount, avg amount) of how much it will cost to treat a dog with parvo?
my dog is a bolognese, 7 years old, 10 pounds, and has had its symptoms since saturday. (check previous questions). he may/may not have this, but i still want to have an estimate of how much we will have to pay just in case… =/

depends on the doctor/vet you choose. Parvo in a 7yr old. Didn’t you, as a responsible owner, get all the necessary shots for your pet when you got him as a puppy or as soon as you got him. A vet can give you more information and hopefully soon since this is a serious illness.

It depends on how early it was caught and how aggressively it is treated. It also depends on where you are geographically located.
I know people who have spent a couple hundred dollars and I know people who have spent well into the thousands.
This is something you need to discuss with your vet.
my friend’s dog was a mutt, and he was about 1 year old, i think. it cost her mum somewhere between $ 800-$ 1000 when their dog had parvo, and he didnt make it ):
so i have no idea how much it would cost for a dog that makes it through,
Good luck with your dog, and i hope it pulls through
P.S
why dont you just give your vet a call, and ask them to give you an estimation of how much it would cost?
cost me $ 268 for one pup $ 395 for the other…but i guess ohio is cheaper than some states…they go by how long they are in the hospital what meds they are on and they won’t know all that till treatment is over with…
I answered your previous question a few days ago, and the symptoms your dog is presenting do not nessessarily match those of parvovirus. It is also rare that a 7-year-old dog would get it. However, I do reccomend having your dog vaccinated agaisnt it.
Have you took him in for a second opinion yet? This would be the best idea.
