My dog was exposed to a dog with Parvo within the last week and my dog has not had the Parvo vaccine yet. Is it too late to get her vaccinated?

Call your vet.. He’ll test for Parvo and tell you what you should do. Let him know prior to bringing him into the office that you might be bringing in a Parvo dog.

the dog must go to the vet asap…your dog should have been vaccinated as part of the regularly scheduled vet visits
As DP, check with your vet and let him know that the dog you are bringing in may have Parvo.
We had a dog, a whippett, that dies of Parvo. The vet told us that it is particularly harsh on purebreeds but not as bad on mongrels. It appears the heinz variety have a better immunity.
Vaccinating after the fact will not help &, in fact, could compromise the pup’s ability to fight off the disease if vaccinated while the disease is incubating.
Call your vet & see how long they suggest you wait.
Be aware that the first vaccine is only a building block. Your dog should not be around other dogs till fully vaccinated.
Also, be aware that parvo can live live in the environment for up to 2 years so don’t take your dog anywhere you know a parvo dog has been.
the parvo vaccine will NOT protect your dog if he was exposed already.. that’s not how the vaccine works.
Parvo can incubate up to 10-14 days.. all you can do is wait and see if he gets sick.
The vaccine will protect your dog from futuer exposures tho, but it wont do anything for this one. Vaccines are a dead or weakened virus, which the immune system responds to and develops an immunity to.
I have a dog that went through parvo, and the best thing to do is wait and if or when your dog gets sick take them to the vet and yes like the others have said tell the vet your bringing a poss parvo case, and if your dog does end up getting parvo then you will have to bleach everything. I even had to bleach my yard. We have one of the best vets in the state that we use and she is the one that told me to bleach everything, so good luck.
Mostly good answers so far but I WOULD NOT WAIT to take the dog to the vet. It is true they probably won’t vaccinate and there is a 10-14 day incubation period for the virus, but there are things you can do to help like keeping the pup hydrated (pedi-a-lite is really good) or knowing the first warning signs. Waiting is not a good idea.
