You’re dog sings? How cool.
What do you think? Answer below!

Parvovirus is a severe gastrointestinal disease. It initially causes weakness, depression, and lethargy. After a few days to weeks, it causes vomiting and lack of appetite. The dogs develop a very high fever. Very severe diarrhea ensues, gray in color, often with blood and tissue. Because of the vomiting and diarrhea, the dogs become very weak and dehydrated. Puppies and dogs less than two years old, may also suffer from heart disease caused by the virus, causing sudden death
Blood in the feces is a classic sign of Parvo. Other signs include diarrhea, lethargic behavior, vomiting, and being unwilling to eat. This disease is DEADLY. 75% of the puppies that have Parvo and are not treated die. It is also extremely contagious to other dogs. To avoid spreading this deadly virus to other puppies, your dog needs to not have contact with other dogs, and you need to wash all her bedding and toys in bleach and hot water, wash your hands and clothes thoroughly, and bleach off the bottoms of your shoes.
Have your mom take the dog to a vet- they can perform a simple test to see if she really has Parvo or not for about $ 30. If she does have it, the treatment is really expensive, and even with treatment many puppies die- it would probably be kindest to euthanize her if you cannot afford treatment. Don’t let her suffer with the disease and then die on her own anyway.
If she does not have it, get her vaccinated right away! This disease is completely preventable- there is no reason any puppy should ever have to suffer that.
Drooling and vomitting, diarrhea and lack of energy are all signs. If your mom can;t afford a vet visit here are some things she can try… Parvo is super serious so keep all other dogs away from the sick one. The most important thing is to keep the dog hydrated. Give the pup a spoonful of pepto bysmal to help steady her tummy. If she can keep that down, 30 minutes later giver her a spoonful of pedialyte or some type of fluid with electrolytes in it. Repeat this every hour. It is going to take a lot of work, at the vet;s they would put in an I.V. If you can keep her alive the disease should run its course in 3 days give or take. She can also get canine penicillin from a feed/farm store. This what we have done for 3 dogs on our ranch. The best thing would be to take her to the vet, there may be something else wrong with her… Good Luck and if you can get her to the vet, please do it…
The signs of parvo are not eating and not drinking. They also have bloody stool and it has a terrible odor. My dog had parvo and the vet said one of the big signs was the bloody stool and not drinking water. If a dog won’t drink water, it’s usually very sick. Please take your dog to the vet. Parvo is also very contagious if you have other dogs, especially puppies in or around your home. The dog will suffer and die if you don’t get it help.
One thing that seems to not have been mentioned, it smells.
I used to work in a vet hospital and when dogs came in with parvo, we knew. Its a smell that cannot be described, but can never be forgotten either.
Either way, take the dog to a vet immediatly. The dog sounds like it needs medical attentoin.
look your mom’s dog has the sings for parvo! look if your mom don’t have the money to take the dog to a vet then your mom can try to help the dog by giving the dog shot’s. Now what i mean is if your mom can go to a pharmacy and buy some syringe’s. Then she has to fill it up with warm water then pick up the dog’s skin make sure that the dog’s skin is all the way up. Then inject the dog with the water under the skin it should start to make a bubble of water in the skin if she makes the bubble and it stays in there then have your mom make 4 more. Now it may seam a bit mean but it well keep the dog hydrated. If the dog can drink give the dog some power aid and if the dog can eat give the dog some baby food. I hope this info helps!
Those are signs of parvo which can be DEADLY! But if a person is unable or unwilling to vaccinate a dog & also treat illness when they occur then they absolutely should NOT have the dog. what you are describing is at least neglect if not abuse. PLEASE take the dog to a vet & if you can’t/won’t then take it to a humane society so they can get it properly treated & then place it in a responsible home.
Another message mentioned the bad smell. It smells like iron because of the blood in the stool and vomit and is very distinctive. As everyone has mentioned keeping the dog hydrated is the most important. Some breeds of dog do better than others.
If you are not comfortable with giving the dog shots you can take a syringe and use it to give the dog small amounts of Gatorade or another electrolyte fluid. Every few hours or after any vomiting or diarrhea. DO NOT feed the dog until it has not vomited for at least 12 hours. This may sound harse, but it is important to allow the damaged stomache and intestinal lining to heal sufficiently to not poison the dog. A small amount of rice cooked in broth works well for the first few meals. Many owners have fed the dog too soon and they have died of subsequent infection -not the initial parvo.
I nursed a mini-schnauzer through Parvo at 3 months old. He is alive and well today, but it took 3 days of around the clock attention.
if she has blood in her feces and vomit then she definetly has parvo. The only way the dog is going to make it is with vet attention. And even then it is a longshot.
Those are classic signs of parvo. The best thing to do is FIND money for a vet and START PRAYING.
GOOD LUCK!!
I have had dogs with that,,it is tuff to beat but can be if you have alot of dedication to seeing the pet through,,it has a chance to make it.And once the dog gets through it,,it will not get it again. It is an airborn virus & contagious to other dogs.It strikes younger dogs. It does cause dehydration. Beleive this,,”Pedialite” (electralytes~sold in the baby section of the grocery store) works wonders!!!(do not get fruity flavor.) also can be a generic brand.
